Every spring the girls and I love to plant our own grass for indoor plants. Olivia can do this all by herself at this point, it really is so simple.
I recomend getting a good soil and this grass seed. You can find this in the spring summer months at most local stores, or nursery. This grass seed bag is around $9 and will last you a couple years worth. Or I have split it with neighbors and family because you need very little seed and it goes a long ways.
Start off with some fun and unique pots or planters. Put soil in about 3/4 of the way full. Then apply a very thin layer of the grass seed but making sure you cover the soil entirely to make sure your grass comes in in all areas. Then add a think layer of soil (maybe 1/2 inch thick) on top of the seed. Then water immediately to get this grass growing. I will water it about every other day. And within about a week you will start to see grass pop up!!
And then this is called real life moments!!! When your two year old bends over and makes grass seed go FLYING!!!
It was so funny and let’s just say we keep having grass grow in random spots in our pots. It’s a great memory!!
