I am not the best baker, ok there I said it. But one thing I feel comfortable making for my family is my Banana bread. There are a few tips and tricks I have for you.
I use about 2 bananas for this recipe. Typical banana bread it’s best to use old bananas but honestly not 100% necessary. If you have bananas use them.
Cream Well –
1/2 cup margarine
2 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Add to eggs and sugar. 1 cup of Mashed bananas and 1 tsp lemon juice
Separately sift together and add to banana mixture.
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Add 1/2 cup milk to mixture.
In a separate bowl beat 2 egg whites for about 1/2 mins until a little fluffy.
Add eggs to mixture and chopped nuts if you would like.
Add cinnamon and sugar mixture to the top of bread before baking.
Makes 1 large loaf or 3 small loafs.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 mins.
